The Trousdale County High School Marching Yellow Jackets have gotten their Competitive season off to a great start by scoring trophies at every competition they have attended. On September 16, the Yellow Jackets have earned Fourth Place Band, Third Place Guard, and First Place Percussion in Class D at the prestigious Hendersonville Golden Invitational. Three hours later, at the Eagle Invitational at Clarksville Northeast, the Percussion, Guard, and Field Commander Lydia Zarichansky finished Second in the Small Class, while the Band finished Third.
This past Saturday, September 23 at the Station Camp Marching Invitational, the Marching Yellow Jackets Percussion finished Second Place in the Sun Class. The Band finished Third, .66 points behind Second Place.
A few hours later at the Highland Rim Invitational at Westmoreland High School, The Band swept Class D with First Place Guard, Percussion and Band. The Band earned Second Place in entire Small Division, comprised of Classes C & D. The Band also finished 5th Place overall out of all 13 Bands there, and had the 2nd best Percussion out of all 13, and also the 3rd best Guard out of 13.
“The kids have worked extremely hard beginning in April, and all Summer”, said Band Director Rob Joines. “Our goal is to make Finals at the Tennessee Division I State Marching Championship”. The state championship takes place November 4 at Riverdale High School.
TCHS’ seniors are preparing to audition for university scholarships that will be awarded at Riverdale. Since 2003, every senior that has needed a band scholarship has earned one.
