Trousdale County High Senior Taylor Ellis becomes the second Yellow Jacket baseball player in the Class of 2021 to sign baseball scholarship papers, as he inked up with Roane State Community College (Harriman, TN) on Wednesday morning during a ceremony at TCHS.
Ellis, a four-year Jacket starter, is signing as a RHP with the Raiders, yet he is listed as a utility player with the Yellow Jackets. He was named All District after his sophomore season of 2019 where he was 5-4 with a 4.36 ERA in 50 innings of work, before having the 2020 season canceled due to the COVID pandemic.
The last two summers, Taylor has played for the Nashville Knights. He was recently the recipient of the Nashville Old Timers Baseball Association’s Scholarship for 2021. Taylor is the son of Stacy and Jenesia Ellis, and currently carries a 3.6 GPA.
Ellis joins classmate, Elijah Henderson, in signing college baseball scholarships. “You don’t see multiple signees from one class at TCHS. That is super cool, and Taylor is a prime example of taking what you have and working your tail off to get more” stated TCHS head coach, Davy Cothron.
