JSMS took to the floor for the first time since Dec. 12th and came away with a scrappy road win at Carrol-Oakland, 24-17.
Both teams struggled to find offensive footing in first half but defensive rebounding allowed the Jackets to keep the game within one score going into intermission.
Second half scoring picked up slightly for both teams, but the JSMS defense and rebounding was limiting Eagle possessions to a minimum.
With the Jackets up 19-17 with around two minutes to go in the game, Kobyn Calhoun got a three-point attempt from the corner to somehow bank in, giving the Jackets a 22-17 lead. A couple free-throws with under :10 seconds to play sealed the deal for a 24-17 victory.
The win was the Jr. Jackets’ fourth in the last five games.
The Jr. Jackets will close out the season at home on Thursday January 23rd against Watertown.
