The Satterfield Middle school boys scrapped together enough offense to go along with tough defense and rebounding in a 26-24 overtime victory over visiting Red Boiling Springs.
Only two players got in the scoring as Kobyn Calhoun rebounded from a rough night on Monday with 14 points and 6 rebounds and classmate Cole Gregory added 12 points and 8 tough rebounds, but the difference in the game may have come from the tag-team post defenders of Mason Eden and Kingston McClain who combined for 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. McClain and Eden both started for the first time due to Dalton Stafford’s Monday night ankle injury kept him out of the lineup and may do so for an extended period.
“I can be sure of one thing. It may not always be pretty, but our kids have provided some great excitement and hard play for a $5 admission. You want a great test for your blood pressure medications? Come watch us!”, stated head coach Davy Cothron.
JSMS will not be back on the floor until Monday November 18th when they play game two of this series at Red Boiling Springs. Tip-off set for 6:00pm
