1st half miscues and JSMS turnovers created a slow start for the Junior Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night. York led at halftime 0 – 8 when the Dragons converted a 2nd quarter score & 2 point conversion. After intermission though, JSMS swarmed to the ball forcing York turnovers and creating momentum. In the 3rd quarter, the Jackets revived some Creek-Bank magic and began to march the football down the field. The offensive line began to plow the way for some hard-earned yardage by Jacket runners. Aiden Young finally scored up the middle to put JSMS in position to tie it up. With Kyson Noble’s 2 point conversion, the Junior Jackets took control of a tied-up ballgame. In the 4th quarter, the JSMS defense forced a turnover on downs giving the offense a short field to work with. Noah Cook took advantage of it by hitting Aiden Young in the flat with a pass on 4th down. Aiden ran through a tackler and scored in the corner of the endzone to give the Jackets their first lead of the night. The 2 point conversion by Kyson Noble was good, and the JSMS Yellow Jackets took a 16 – 8 lead. With the remaining time, the Jackets managed to hold on–aided by a couple of Will Lessman quarterback sacks to seal the victory. The JSMS Yellow Jackets will travel to Overton County next Thursday night for a 6:30pm showdown with the Wildcats of Livingston.
