The Lady Jackets used a 2 run sixth inning to finally take the lead against Carroll Oakland. On a night with great pitching from both teams, Maddie Lee led the Lady Jackets, she faced 23 batters only allowing 3 hits and striking out 10 batters while needing only 72 pitches. Of the 8 hits for the Lady Jackets Ruth Mink and Taren Simmons both collected multi-hit games, while Maddie Lee, Elsie Satterfield, Charlee Jo Dixon, and Libby Clark all got one hit on the night.
In the sixth inning Taren Simmons got things started when on a 3-1 count she doubled on a hard line drive to center field. Maddie Lee came up to the plate and sent the first pitch deep to right field scoring Taren while reaching thrid base. The final run was scored when Maddy Cunningham hit a ball to right field that was caught, but Maddie Lee tagged up and scored.
The Lady Jackets are back in action Monday April 8th when they try to get another win against Carroll Oakland at 4:30 on the Creek Bank.
