The Jackets started the road to state Friday night in the first round of the TSSAA playoffs. Marion County came into town with a 3rd play finish in their region and a 2-8 record overall. The Warriors came into the game wanting to control the ball and limit the time of possession for the Jackets. The Jackets showed up and played their brand of football, running the ball at Marion County and playing great defense and special teams. The scoring started when #5 C. Rankins took a hand off 9 yards for the opening drive touchdown. On the ensuing drive with the Warriors moving the ball a little the Jackets stepped up and forced a fumble giving them the ball back, where #11 B. Chumley took a hand off 4 yards to make it 14-0 TCHS. To start the second quarter #5 Rankins got into the end zone again this time from 6 yards out and defensively #2 K. Ford got an interception to give the ball back to the Jackets. the Jackets marched down the field with a great drive where #5 Rankins punched in his third score of the night this time from 2 yards out and took the 28-0 lead into halftime. Much like the 1st half the Jackets came out ready to play, forcing a Marion punt, #50 X. Harper blocks the punt and #23 J. Hayward scoops it up for a touchdown making it 35-0. The Jackets offense kept their foot on the gas and #5 Rankins scored again this time from 21 yards to give him 4 scores on the night and a 42-0 Jackets lead.

The Jackets move to 9-1 on the season and will travel to take on Tyner Academy in Chattanooga. The Rams are coming off a huge win over Westmoreland 54-0 and are looking to avenge the 35-0 loss to the Jackets last season in the second round.
